Process safety management (PSM) has been focused primarily on technical and management ‘systems’ that must be implemented. These are essential to organize and implement process safety elements. But a clearly defined process for focusing on the underlying PSM culture is necessary to facilitate the management system to be effective. This allows us to have a breakthrough to the next level of performance. Presented at the 8th CCPS Global Summit in Mumbai, India, this presentation delves into how enhancing process safety culture drives the effectiveness of PSM systems. We share a model for fostering leadership and measurable actions to improve safety performance across organizations.
